The value for your money is superb. Shanghai No. 68 Hostel has a lovely warm atmosphere, and is clean and comfortable. We stayed in a lower floor room for 2 nights at 130 Yuan, and an upper floor room for 1 night at 150 Yuan. The beds are sturdy, the linens are thick, good quality and clean. There is an electric blanket which is a nice touch. When the room was shown to us, there was an explanation that the hot water tank may need time to recharge after one shower, but we both showered with no problem or wait. There were some very charming artistic touches in the decor.
Judy and her family were very friendly and hospitable. Judy spent a lot of time with us to show us where to go on our map, pointing out restaurants and answering our questions patiently. We planned a trek to Tiger Leaping Gorge and not only did they help us book the tour bus, but Judy's dad actually walked us personally to the meeting point in the morning. In addition, they provided invaluable tips on weather and things to see. Judy's dad cooks up an excellent Shanghai meal, and the dogs Milk Tea and Coffee were adorable, as well as Sugarbowl (the cat).
We would highly recommend this hostel to any traveller!! Make sure you check out Judy's lovely artwork too!
Thanks for a perfect stay.
